Mooneys are among the most efficient and structurally sound airplanes manufactured.  The low profile cross-section and laminar flow wings reduce drag to enable the fast air speeds typically unachievable in other manufacturers' airplanes with similar horsepower.  The tubular steel frame, acting as a cockpit roll cage, along with the wingtip-to-wingtip wing spar make the Mooney airframe the strongest and safest among GA airplanes.

The M20J, first introduced in July 1976 as the 1977 Model 201, included a variety of airframe enhancements engineered by Roy LoPresti that increased the top speed by 16 mph over the M20F model.  The M20J, branded the 201, since it achieve 201 mph on only a 200 hp engine, was a significant milestone in Mooney's history.  Mooney continued improving the features and creature comforts in the "J" model until production ceased at the end of the 1998 production year.

This airplane is in excellent condition and one of the best IFR-quipped M20J's we've seen.  The Garmin GNS 480W is coupled with the GMX 200 MFD, the GDL 69A (withr XM weather and radio), the remote-mounted GTX 33 ES transponder, and the KFC 150 flight director.  The GTX 33 ES was recently installed which complies with the 2020 ADS-B mandate and provides traffic display (TIS) along with 1090 MHz extended squitter broadcast technology. The KFC 150 autopilot with flight director provides altitude hold and GPSS roll steering to ease pilot workload.  It has been maintained by us, a certified Mooney Service Center.  It flies and runs great and, since it is priced very attractively, it's an airplane you really want to see before it sells.
