Comments

Mooneys are among the most efficient and structurally sound airplanes manufactured.  The low profile cross-section and laminar flow wings reduce drag to enable the fast air speeds typically unachievable in other manufacturers' airplanes with similar horsepower.  The tubular steel frame, acting as a cockpit roll cage, along with the wingtip-to-wingtip wing spar make the Mooney airframe the strongest and safest among GA airplanes.

The M20J, first introduced in July 1976 as the 1977 Model 201, included a variety of airframe enhancements engineered by Roy LoPresti that increased the top speed by 16 mph over the M20F model.  The M20J, branded the 201, since it achieve 201 mph on only a 200 hp engine, was a significant milestone in Mooney's history.  Mooney continued improving the features and creature comforts in the "J" model until production ceased at the end of the 1998 production year.

This 201 now has a 'zero time' engine and prop...so it's ready to fly for many years to come.  It also has been upgraded with a one-piece belly pan for reduced drag and ease of maintenance...an upgrade that wasn't factory-standard until 1984.  Additionally, it has been upgraded with the wing-root fairing that was never factory-standard on the "J" models but first introduced on the M20K 231 models for better low-speed characteristics. The panel is full IFR with a Century IIB autopilot, Garmin GNS 430W and King HSI.  As with most of the airplanes we sell, Air-Mods just performed a comprehensive Mooney Service Center annual.
