Beechcraft’s Bonanza, the “Mercedes” of general aviation airplanes, has been in continuous production longer than any other airplane in history. And the V-tail Bonanza, introduced in 1947, set the standard for the stylish and well-equipped aircraft for the private pilot.
The Bonanza’s V-tail design uses only two surfaces to perform the function that three surface perform on conventional straight-tail designs. This reduction in surface area reduces drag and weight theoretically increasing performance over its equivalent straight-tail siblings. This V-tail, while equipped with a fifth removable seat, provides spacious and comfortable seating for four with ample space (and a large baggage door) for luggage, golf clubs, bicycles, or most anything else you want to carry. It is an excellent IFR platform with the Garmin GNS 430 WAAS GPS coupled with the Century III autopilot. It has been hangared for the last 13 years, meticulously maintained, and is a joy to fly. |
