Modifications:
We specialize in airframe upgrades and speed modifications for Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, and Mooney. Below is a sampling of the types of speed modifications we offer.
We install speed and other mods designed by the following leading manufacturers:
Sheet metal repairs:
Air-Mods is well experienced in sheet metal work ranging from minor repairs to major skin replacement. Sheet metal work is really an art. Patience and experience is key to these highly specialized, professional repairs.
While bird strikes typically occur head-on, a large bird struck this Bonanza from above, diving down behind the prop and coming to a sudden stop on the cabin roof, just behind the windshield. Since the airplane was flying at cruise speed, the result for the bird was catastrophic. The result for the airplane, fortunately, was only a wrinkled cabin skin, still a complex and timing-consuming necessary repair. We protected the adjacent windshield and side windows, removed the antennas, interior headliner, components, and drilled-out each rivet in oder to remove the cabin roof skin. We then installed a new skin which required drilling for each rivet hole and installing new rivets; then reinstalled the antennas, interior components, and head liner. Here’s the skin removed and replaced, just before paint.
Custom Instrument Panels:
Whether you need to modify your existing panel or replace it entirely, we have the skill, experience, and equipment to do the job. Our staff takes pride in the finished product.

Ferry / Recovery:
Occasionally, airplanes may miss their annual inspection or have mechanical problems that require ferry service. We offer services that range from ferrying airplanes currently airworthy; to affecting necessary repairs to make them airworthy (and obtaining FAA ferry permits when required); to disassembling and shipping airplanes by truck. We are one of the few maintenance shops on the east coast that tackles the tough jobs.
