The Aztec evolved in the late 1950’s as Piper wanted more out is twin-engine Apache. Following the addition of several upgrades, it officially went on the market in 1959 effectively ending the Apache’s run.
The earlier Aztecs featured the twin 250s, seating for six, and several other advances. This model was tweaked through the years and saw a rather long run until production ceased in 1982. This Aztex includes wing and empennage de-icing boots and a windshield hot plate that work very well and improve the margin of safety in icing conditions. Beyond its upgraded design, the Piper Aztec has several claims to fame that make it a popular model. It is noted for its endurance, stability, and load-carrying ability. This airplane is in excellent condition! It has been hangared for, at least, the last 13 years and has been meticulously maintained. With turbos, full de-ice, a Garmin GNS 430W, radar, stormscope, and co-pilot instruments, this airplane is well equipped and ready for your next cross-country flight! |
